Tips for rose care

This Valentine's Day, most of the roses you will receive will not have been hydrated and will still be in their original farm packaging.

Here are a few instructions and tips:

On receipt, check the quality and freshness of your roses.

The protective petals may be more damaged, rusty or blackened than usual.

Your roses may be softer than usual.

Some roses may have been cut at a more closed stage, which explains their darker colour and slightly more pointed heads.

We strongly recommend that you keep the pack of roses in the original cardboard packaging.

DO NOT CLEAN OR THIN YOUR ROSES RIGHT AWAY! This will prevent unnecessary breakage;

Choose clean buckets that have been properly cleaned of all bacteria;

Use slightly lukewarm water, 40°C (100°F) maximum;

Use a powder or liquid condom, such as Floralife, Crystal Clear or RosePro. Follow the instructions carefully;

A floral preservative has three specific functions: to adjust the PH of your water, to prevent the formation of algae and bacteria and to provide the flower with nutrients to ensure that it blooms as fully as possible. THIS PRODUCT IS USEFUL!

Remove any foliage that might touch the water. Bevel the stems of your roses. Use a sharp, bacteria-free knife;

Soak the freshly cut roses for about one (1) second in a QUICK DIP solution;

Leave your roses to drink at room temperature for at least three hours;
Check them periodically. Take into account the original condition of your roses when you receive them. If they were soft or if they were very closed, darker in colour than usual, it may be necessary to keep your roses at room temperature and in the light for longer;
Store your roses in a cold room at 2° to 3° C with a good level of humidity.
When all these steps have been completed, after 24 hours in a cold room, you can proceed with the complete cleaning of your roses.
