The eternal rose - a romantic and lasting gift
Published on November 14, 2022
Everlasting roses are a perfect alternative to the traditional bouquet, especially if you want to give a romantic gift that will last more than a few days or weeks. Everlasting roses are natural roses that have been preserved and could last up to 3 years.
What is the difference between an eternal rose and a dried rose?
A dried bouquet is typically placed upside down for a few weeks to evaporate all the water inside, then arranged in a vase or otherwise. Dried flowers are incredibly fragile and tend to lose their vibrant color early in the process.
An everlasting flower is preserved, i.e. the rose, in this case, is cut when it is at its most beautiful, and is soaked in a concoction of resin and other natural products. This liquid rehydrates the flower and replaces the sap in its centre. For all colours that do not occur naturally in the rose, a dyeing process is added. These everlasting flowers are much more colourful and relatively less fragile than dried flowers.
How do you care for an everlasting rose ?
The care of an everlasting rose is incredibly simple. Basically, it should be kept in a place where it will not receive direct light, as it could burn. It doesn't need to be watered, but you should make sure that no dust settles on it periodically.
